Fairytale Adventures Travel Agency heads to Universal!

It’s a tough life when your business trip includes staying and playing in the Disney Parks and skipping over to check out what Universal has to offer. Fairytale Adventures Travel was very fortunate to have the opportunity to train and tour the hotels and parks of Universal Orlando Resort during our Spring Familiarization Trip.

Brandy Posey, our beautiful and fearless leader.

So after an early morning, we headed over to Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando to get started on our day of learning the ends and outs of Universal Orlando to better serve our amazing clients. Amy and Amy greeted us in the lobby and we were on our way to tour this resort.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel offers luxury accommodations themed as a recreation of the seaside resort town, Portofino, Italy. This resort offers spacious guest rooms, eight restaurants and lounges as well as three swimming pools, a spa and entertainment at night in the harbor side piazza. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel also offers various suites, including Despicable Me themed family suites.

Next we headed over to Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, talk about a blast from the past. Imagine you are on one of the great American road trips of the 1950s and 60s, it’s time to rest for the evening so you stop at one of the many roadside hotels, which is the feel and look of Cabana Bay. This retro designed resort offers guests a food court, bowling alley, Starbucks and the ability to even have pizza delivered to your room. When you are not exploring the parks, you can take a splash in one of the two pools (featuring a water slide and lazy river) or work out at the Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio. This value hotel includes family suites that sleep up to six and have a little bit of extra bathroom space as well as a kitchenette.

What happens when you run into some wizards in the lobby? You take a picture!

Next up was my personal favorite, the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. You literally feel like you have stepped into a tropical oasis. The lobby is full of details of the South Seas. There are six restaurants and lounges, including character dining and Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, a lagoon style swimming pool (with a water play area), and a weekly Wantilan Luau.

Looking for a more Rock N’ Roll experience, we checked out the Hard Rock Hotel last. These rooms have recently been renovated and feature over 1 million dollars in memorabilia. Head on down to the pool (with underwater music) for a sand beach, water slide, and volleyball.

Although we were not able to tour the new resort, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, we did get a preview of what it will offer. This Caribbean themed resort will take you back to the tropics with two sand beach themed pools, including water slide, hot tub and water play area. Sapphire Falls will also feature a state of the art fitness center with locker rooms and a sauna, Caribbean cuisine, a tavern with daily rum tastings and grab and go dining options.

We then headed in for our learning portion of our experience. Here we got to learn the ins and outs of the packages, parks and the future of Universal Parks.

Finally, after our tour and training were complete, we headed into the parks for a little fun. Here are a few highlights.

All in a great day to explore and learn about a new destination. Make sure you like us on Facebook and continue to follow along with us this week as we continue to explore Universal. You may find that it is the perfect vacation spot for you and your family!
