Ship Spotlight: Disney Magic

The Disney Magic was the first Disney Cruise Line Ship to set sail to sea in July of 1998. The Disney Magic was commissioned to be built in Italy and was made with a beautiful one of a kind paint job of black on the hull with accents of red and white in true Mickey inspired fashion. The 20 lifeboats on board are a distinctive bright yellow also inspired by Mickey.
The Disney Magic holds 2,700 passengers in 875 staterooms. She is a mid level size ship by todays standards and offers an unique intimate atmosphere to her guests.
The Disney Magic set the bar high back in 1998 for Family Cruising and hasn't looked back since. Disney offers the most amazing kids clubs found at sea with 4 different areas dedicated to making a cruise special for kids and opened a whole new vacation option for families.
On board the Disney Magic are 4 distinct kids play areas.
It's A Small World Nursery

1. For Children ages 6 months to 3 years (1 year to 3 years for Transatlantic, Hawaii and Panama Canal Itineraries.)
2. Cost is $9.00 per hour for the first child and $8.00 per hour for the second child.
3. Time Slots for the nursery are limited and it is highly recommended that you book important times in advance online.
Disney's Oceaneer's Club

2. The Oceaneer's Club is divided into 4 unique play rooms.

4. The Oceaneer's Club has no cost for children to attend.
5. If you have an adult's only dinner planned, children can even be scheduled to have dinner in the club.

2. Located Deck 9 mid-ship this is a tween only area.
3. With computers, video game stations, and karaoke machines this area is great for the pre-teen age
4. A range of activities can include scavenger hunts, role-playing, and interactive games.

1. Ages 14-17
2. Teen only zone in the forward funnel.
3. Range of drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
4. Styled as a loft, the area is laid back essential for just hanging out and making new friends.
5. Space includes flat screen TVs, video games, Dvd's, Board games, and music.
While the kids are enjoying Parent-free spaces, Parent's are welcome to enjoy Adult only spaces on the ship. Adult only spaces include the Quiet Cove Pool, Palo (an adult only restaurant that is able to be pre-booked prior to boarding. Cost is $30 per person.), Fathom ( a place to dance the night away) and Keys (live piano music). A full service spa is also available for adults to relax and recharge.

Going on a Disney Cruise doesn't mean the family needs to be separated the whole time though. There are plenty of activities awaiting your family on board that can be shared by everyone.

At the end of the day bring the whole family together and reconnect over dinner. While on the Disney Magic you will experience rotational dining. Families will visit different restaurants nightly while their serving team rotates with them. Each dining room has a unique dining atmosphere.

Disney Magic does awesome is cabins. Disney Magic cabins are made for families of all sizes and there are a variety of options to choose from including Inside, Port Hole View, Verandah, and Concierge Suites. Most of the cabins onboard feature the infamous split bathroom which makes getting ready in the morning easier for the whole family.
