Resort Spotlight- Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
Today we get to spotlight one of my all time favorite resorts at Walt Disney World. Located just minutes away from Magic Kingdom Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has been a beloved resort for many families visiting Walt Disney World. Living up to its name the resort gives guests taste of the Polynesian atmosphere in a beautiful tranquil setting.
When you stay at Disney's Polynesian Resort you will check in at the Great Ceremonial House and will be greeted by cast members in traditional Polynesian style. From there you will have a room in one of 12 longhouses around the resort or a Bungalow over the water.
The resort was one of the three original resorts that opened along with Magic Kingdom in 1971. Disney's Polynesian Resort has 478 rooms, 6 suites, 360 Deluxe Studios and 20 over water Bungalows. Standard guest rooms can accommodate up to 5 guests, along with one child under 3 in a crib. Most standard rooms have 2 queen beds and a day bed. Other standard rooms have a king size bed and a day bed. While staying at the Polynesian guests may decide to stay in a Club Level Room. A Club Level includes personalized concierge service and access to the Club Level Lounge. The Club Level Lounge provides guest with a continental breakfast, snacks, and evening drinks, how d'oeuvres and desserts.
Disney's Polynesian Resort offers 8 different dining options, not including the Club Level Lounge, so guests will never be hungry while staying at the resort.
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is one of a kind all you care to enjoy feast with Polynesian inspired cuisine. A spectacular dinner show including music and authentic hula dances that will delight guests of all ages. You will feel like you are on a secluded island far away and part of the real Polynesian islands. Beer and Wine is included for guest over 21. Make sure you book in advance because seating is limited.
'Ohana's is a table service option for breakfast and dinner. In the morning Lilo and Stitch make their rounds all with other Disney favorite at the 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast. Breakfast is all you care to enjoy, family style that will give you plenty of food to start your day at the parks. In the evening 'Ohana's is a family style all you care to enjoy Polynesian dinner of salads, beef, seafood, poultry and vegetables. Unfortunately there are not characters at dinner but there are activities and games for your little ones throughout the evening.
Kona Cafe is another table service restaurant located in the Great Ceremonial House. Kona Cafe offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner once again featuring steaks, sushi, seafood, pasta and vegetarian options. I love to grab breakfast here and one of my breakfast on the menu is their Big Kahuna along with a French press coffee. With enough for two, it is the perfect way to start the morning.
Kona Island offers coffee, tea, and pastries in the morning and is a great place to stop and grab a quick bite to eat.
Captain Cooks is the Polynesian's quick service option. Located on the main floor of the Great Ceremonial House Captain Cooks serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Captain Cooks is open 24 hours a day.
If your spending the day at Polynesian's Pool you can grab a bite to eat at the poolside snack bar too.
Pineapple Lanai is a new addition to the Polynesian Resort and offers a tranquil out door setting to enjoy a Dole Whip soft serve and pineapple floats.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is also a new addition that offers Original Polynesian cocktails, regional beers, and appetizers.

Guests can also order room service from 7 am to midnight.
The Polynesian offers the Lava Pool which is a heated pool with 142 foot waterslide. A second leisure pool, play areas for the kids and poolside cabana rentals. It is one of the most beautiful pools at Walt Disney World.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is in the Deluxe category of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and it offers a large array of activities for the whole family along with a stunning view of the Magic Kingdom from across Seven Seas Lagoon. While staying at the resort guests have access to Grand Floridian Resort and Spa's Health Club which is short ride away on the monorail. Guests can also watch movies under the stars. Lily's playhouse is a an onsite kids club for ages 3-12. Parents are able to drop little ones off from 4:30 to midnight and head out for an adult's only evening. Kids Clubs charge a flat rate of $55 per evening per child and includes dinner and a snack.

Guests staying at the Polynesian have 3 options of transportation. They can use the Resort Monorail to head directly to Magic Kingdom or to Tickets and Transportation Center to catch the Monorail to Epcot. Guest are also able to use the Water Launch service from the marina to travel by boat to either the Grand Floridian or Magic Kingdom. Thirdly, guests can catch a bus to other Walt Disney World theme parks or locations.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is truly a beautiful resort that the whole family can enjoy. After the hustle and bustle of the parks heading back to the feeling of an island getaway is amazing. I hope that you consider it for your next Walt Disney World Vacation.
