Resort Spotlight: Loews Royal Pacific At Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort is the place where you step into the movies or take a journey through your favorite legends, cartoon or comic adventures. Like other ultimate vacation destinations, Universal Orlando Resort offers on site hotel options for every budget and vacation style. This past spring, the agents of Fairytale Adventure Travel were fortunate enough to take a tour of this fabulous resort and personally see what it had to offer. Here is a spotlight on one of Universal’s preferred hotels, Loews Royal Pacific Resort.

Travel deep into the South Seas to your relaxing getaway along with amenities and other conveniences to make your vacation in the “tropics” unforgettable. This resort is themed around the first island-hopping adventure travelers in the South Pacific. Here you can enjoy the rich tropical surroundings from native carvings, a white sand beach to the amazing landscaping that instantly transports you to the islands.

Why should you stay on-site when visiting Universal? Here are some perks of staying at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort:

  • Skip the lines for FREE with Universal Express Unlimited ride access

  • Early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (one hour before the park opens)

  • Complimentary transportation via water taxis and shuttle buses as well as walking paths to the theme parks as well as Universal CityWalk

  • Resort-wide charging privileges

  • Priority seating at select restaurants

  • Complimentary delivery of merchandise throughout the resort to the hotel

  • Complimentary access to live entertainment and venues at Universal CityWalk

  • Complementary scheduled transportation to Wet ‘n Wild, SeaWorld and Aquatica

Loews Royal Pacific Resort offers amazing recreation, all themed to fit the fun of the tropics. The lagoon-styled swimming pool is where you can get away to the white sand beach. This recreational area features two hot tubs, the Royal Bali Sea interactive children’s water play area, ping pong tables, pool tables and a sand volleyball court. When the weather is nice, you may also catch a “dive-in” movie poolside or the torch lighting ceremony including a fire dancer. Private cabanas, featuring televisions and ceiling fans are available to rent and also include a fruit basket, six sodas and two waters.

You have your choice of six restaurants and lounges to enhance your senses of the tropics. The Island Dining room offers a buffet for breakfast and Pan Asian cuisine at dinnertime. Over at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop you can dine on Chef Emeril Lagasse’s Asian-infused creations for lunch or dinner. Looking for a place where you can meet for drinks, food and carry on a friendly conversation, then head on over to Jake’s American Bar. Over by the pool, Bula Bar & Grill is the casual spot to grab your tropical drinks, wraps, sandwiches and “Our Own Half Pound Burger.” Over in the Orchid Court, you can grab breakfast by day and a cocktail by night at the lounge, or swing by the sushi bar for some inventive sushi or Asian desserts. Be sure to check out the Weekly Wantilan Luau to savor the tastes of the South Pacific while enjoying live music and hula dancing (reservations required). When it comes to dining, your biggest dilemma will be where to try next.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort also features:

  • Gym - with locker rooms, steam and sauna rooms, whirlpool and the latest in cardio equipment.

  • Three retail and gift shop locations - Toko Gifts (Loews Royal Pacific Resort apparel, Universal toys and souvenirs and toiletries and sundry items), Treasures of Bali (tropical island wear, snacks and imported gifts), and Mas shop (custom wood carvings and more)

  • Full-service business center

  • Mariner’s Club (supervised kid’s camp)

  • Two washer and dryer facilities

Now on to the guest rooms. Loews Royal Pacific Resort has 1,000 rooms (including 51 suites) and 8 room categories to meet your needs. I’m not going to get into specifics on each category but will touch base on a few. This resort has recently renovated the guest rooms. Orchids were the inspiration to the new themes and my initial impressions of the rooms were that they were very clean looking and very relaxing. If I picked any resort for my Universal vacation, it would be Loews Royal Pacific.

As far as in room amenities, Loews Royal Pacific Resort offers the following with every room type:

  • 100% cotton bed linens, 300 thread count

  • Character Wake Up Calls

  • 32” flat screen televisions

  • Clock radios (iHome)

  • Two telephones

  • Automated heating and air conditioning

  • Keurig coffee makers

  • Iron, ironing board

  • In-room Wi-Fi

Bathrooms feature a separate bath and vanity area, skin and body care products, a hair dryer and a make-up mirror.

Looking for something a little bit different for the kids? This resort also has Jurassic Park Kid’s Suites! These suites also offer mom and da a little privacy. They feature a king bedroom for the adults and then a separate bedroom for the kids. If you are interested in one of these suites, act fast since there are only eight of them on this property. This resort also offers other suite types such as the King Suite, Hospitality Suite and Royal Suite.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort also features some club level rooms. These rooms come with personal concierge services to meet your vacation needs, discounts on cabana rentals and access to the Royal Club Lounge. The lounge is open daily and serves complimentary coffee, tea and soft drinks throughout the day, a continental breakfast each morning, afternoon snacks, beer and wine in the afternoon, as well as something sweet each night.

This beautiful resort leaves you with the impression that you have truly experienced the South Pacific with the look, feel, taste, sounds and smells of an exotic tropical getaway.
