The Fantasy features sailing to the Western, Eastern and Southern Caribbean with stops at Disney’s own island, Castaway Cay. The Fantasy has a crew of 1,400 and the capacity to hold 4,000 passengers. With 14 decks of fun, you’ll never hear those famous words, “Mom, we’re bored.”

Recreation:

The Fantasy features many different forms of recreation to keep you and your family busy all day! The adults can enjoy adults only spaces designed just for them. The Senses Spa is sure to relax you as you enjoy a massage for two in a private couples villa. Adults can also enjoy a pool area just for them or enjoy their favorite beverages from one of the many bars throughout the ship.

For the youngest kids from 6 months to 3 years, the ship offers a nursery for those who would like to take a few moments of a little alone time.

The older children, ages 3-12 can let their imagination run wild in Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab. These spaces are designed just for them and have fantastic activities catered just for them.

Tweens and teens also have their own dedicated spaces on board the Fantasy.

Disney Cruise Line features some amazing and family friendly deck parties that will sure get you ready to launch your families vacation! The “Sail Away,” “Pirate Night,” and the “See Ya Real Soon” are featured on every ship. Some sailings even feature special parties such as the “Star Wars Day at Sea” and even your favorite Marvel characters. During the holidays, the Fantasy offers special sailing with “Halloween on the High Seas,” “Thanksgiving at Sea” and “Very Merrytime Cruises.”

“Halloween on the High Seas” is a great time to see your favorite Disney Characters in their own costumes.

Live entertainment is awesome on the Disney Fantasy. Currently, the ship features three hit productions such as “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular,” “Disney’s Wishes,” and Disney’s Believe.” These amazing Broadway style shows are preformed twice, once during the first dining time and again during the second. There is no need to worry about missing them since you will be able to catch them either before or after your dining time. Disney also brings other entertainment onto the ship. While we were on our last sailing, we were able to catch a comedian and hypnotist!

You can even catch movies on the Fantasy. Disney even shows their movies that are currently being seen in theaters on their own ships! Classic films and 3D versions of films are even offered throughout the day as you sail the seas.

Characters are abundant on the Fantasy as well. My daughter was able to see everyone that her heart desired during our last cruise. The characters switch out every fifteen minutes or so. Most of the lines are set up to rotate two characters at a time. As a helpful hint, if the line was short, we would wait for one character and get back in line for the next. Captain Jack Sparrow was my daughter’s favorite and was playing tricks and interacting with the guests of the ship.

The Fantasy hosts one of the coolest water slides at sea! The Aquaduck is an elevated “water coaster” that takes you on a wild, 4-deck drop, journey around and even over the side of the ship. This is a must do for the daredevils in the family! If you are looking to get wet but not as adventurous, Disney’s Fantasy also has Mickey’s pool (with slide), Donald’s pool, the Funnel Puddle, the Quiet Cove pool and Satellite Falls (adults), the Aqua Lab, and Nemo’s Reef for the little ones.

Do you have what it takes to be a detective? Test your skills by taking on cases at the Midship Detective Agency. Here you will go on a self guided journey around the ship to solve the mystery of whodunit! There are a few different cases to give your family some variety. What is so different about this journey is that the artwork throughout the ship will move and interact with you as you gain the clues to solve your case. Although designed for those nine and over, younger children will love the experience as well.

Starting on our third case with the Midship Detective Agency.

Every night you will receive a “Navigator” which lists everything you need to know about the upcoming day. It will have the weather, menus, movie and show times, activities, and the port times if it is not a day at sea. This is your number one source for activities and everything happening on the ship.

Food:

First off, you will never go hungry on a Disney cruise ship!

Disney Cruise Line features a rotational dining. On the Fantasy, there are three main dining rooms. During your adventure, you will have the chance to dine in each of them at least one time, and your personal wait staff will be going along with you. In the Royal Court, you get to feast like royalty in this French inspired restaurant that features classy and subtle touches from your favorite Disney Princesses.

Dining in the Enchanted Garden, you get to enjoy culinary flavors from all over the world. As you dine, you will notice that something magical is taking place throughout your meal. I don’t want to give it away but I will offer this clue, you will feel like you are at the gardens of Versailles enjoying the twilight of nightfall.

Last but not least you have Animator’s Palate. This Disney animation themed restaurant is sure to be a hit with the entire family. This restaurant features interactive shows starring some of you favorites Disney characters. You may even have a hand in doing your own animated characters.

My daughter creating her very own character to be animated later in the dinner show.

Aside from the rotational dining, adults have the option in indulging in an adult’s only dining experience. On board the Fantasy, you have the option of dining at either Remy (featuring French fare) or Palo (featuring Italian fare).

Other dining options are:

Eye Stream Treats (Ice Cream)

Frozone Treats (Smoothies)

Preludes (Snack Bar)

Cabanas (Buffet)

Flo’s Café (Pool Deck Eatery)

And of course, 24 Hour Room Service

Disney even offers Character dining for the little ones. We were able to enjoy breakfast with my daughter’s favorite Disney Jr. Characters!

Staterooms:

The Disney Fantasy is truly designed for families and the staterooms have been designed for all ages with relaxation and comfort. There are four major types of room categories, with 10 different room types, featured on the Fantasy. Most staterooms also feature a split bathroom, which allows getting ready as a family, a much easier task in the morning. With so many options, it’s easy to pick one that will accommodate your travel needs.

Here are a few fun facts about the Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship:

Dumbo and Timothy are featured on the stern of the ship. They weigh more then 2,300 lbs. and Dumbo has over an eight-foot ear span! Impressive!

Did you know that Disney Cruise Line has four captains? The Ship’s Captain, Captain Mickey, Captain Hook and Captain Jack Sparrow!

Each Disney ship has a classic character in the form of a lobby statue to greet the guests. The Fantasy has Minnie Mouse.
