Dining Spotlight: Satu'li Canteen

March 20, 2017

Here is a First Look at the new menu for Satu’li Canteen in Pandora—The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Disney's Parks Blog just release some new information and photos on the exciting new dishes that will be featured at the canteen.

You can enjoy dishes that have wholesome grains, heard proteins and fresh vegetables cooked directly on an on-stage grill. Dishes will start with a quinoa and vegetable salad, mixed whole grain and rice, red and sweet potato hash or a romaine and kale salad as the base. Next you will get the choice of either wood-grilled chicken, fish, chili spiced fried tofu or slow-roasted beef. Top it off with either a creamy herb dressing, charred onion chimichurri to a black bean vinaigrette. You can also select from a menu of "pods" which items such as vegetable curry or even a cheeseburger with root vegetable chips and veggie slaw.

What's different about this canteen? You will now be able to order and pay for you meal on the go with the My Disney Experience App using the Mobile Order option. With this, you will be able to select menu options, customize your order and pre=pay for your meal. When you arrive, you simply will touch the "I'm Here" button on the app and the kitchen will prepare your meal. You will be alerted when it is time to pickup your meal from the window. This will also be implemented into other fast-casual and quick-dining service restaurants later this year. At this time, Mobile Order will only be accepting credit cards.

Here is the back story on the Satu’li Canteen: This was once the main mess hall of the Resources Development Administration located in Mo’ara. The interior has been transformed with colorful Na’vi items filling the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Now, the canteen is owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions tour company and has been transformed into a beautiful dining room with museum style touches. The canteen features hand-woven tapestries, cooking tools, and other natural Pandoran elements decorate the restaurant. After seeing the preview photos for the World of Pandora, we cannot wait to check out the food that goes along with it!
