Resort Spotlight: Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Universal Orlando Resort is the place where you can step into the movies or take a journey through your favorite legends, cartoon or comic adventures. Like other ultimate vacation destinations, Universal Orlando Resort offers on site hotel options for every budget and vacation style. Last spring, the agents of Fairytale Adventure Travel were fortunate enough to take a tour of this fabulous resort and personally see what it had to offer. Here is a spotlight on Universal’s Prime Value hotel, Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort offers you the most affordable way to enjoy everything that Universal Orlando has to offer. Imagine you are on a road trip in the 1950s and 60s and your family stops at a roadside hotel along the beach. That’s how you feel when you step into this retro designed resort.

Why should you stay on-site when visiting Universal? Here are some perks of staying at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort:

Early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (one hour before the park opens)

Early park admission and free transportation to Universal’s Volcano Bay (one hour before the park opens)

Complimentary transportation via shuttle buses as well as walking paths to the theme parks as well as Universal CityWalk

Resort-wide charging privileges

Complimentary delivery of merchandise throughout the resort to the hotel

Complimentary access to live entertainment and venues at Universal CityWalk

Cabana Bay offers family fun recreation for when you are looking for something outside of the parks. Families can challenge each other to a quick game of bowling at the 10-lane Galaxy Bowl or hit up Game-O-Rama, that features modern and classic arcade games. If you are looking to get in a quick workout, the Jack LaLanna Physical Fitness Studio is sure to have everything you need. You can also catch a game of Bingo while at Cabana Bay.

At Cabana Bay, you have you choice of food options that are sure to fit everyone’s liking. The Bayliner Diner is a great choice for a quick meal or to get something to go (this food court style diner open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Galaxy Bowl Restaurant is a great choice for a table meal in between your bowling games. Both pool areas have a poolside eatery that also feature cocktails and other drinks. Pizza is available from Dellzioso Pizza and can is delivered right to your room. Need a quick pick me up, Starbucks is also located in the lobby of Cabana Bay.

Now on to the guest rooms. Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has 1,800 rooms (including 900 suites) and 6 room categories to meet your needs. I’m not going to get into specifics on each category but will touch base on the room types.

Looking for something a little bit different or larger when traveling with kids? This resort also has family suites! These feature one bedroom (with two queen beds) and one living room with a sofa that pulls out into a full-size bed. The kitchenette has the following amenities: mini refrigerator, microwave, small sink, Cuisinart double pod brewer, disposable plastic ware and cups, bar counter with two stools, electrical outlets, phone jack and data port, as well as a charging station at bar. The bathrooms are compartmentalized into three areas. One with a tub/shower that also has a single sink, the middle one contains a sink and vanity and the toilet is in the third. This is perfect for when the entire family is trying to get ready to hit the parks.
