Universal’s Islands of Adventure, named World’s Top Theme Park for 2015 & 2016! With one adventure after another you are sure to have a thrilling experience with every corner you turn. The different islands you will visit include: Suess Landing, The Lost Continent, Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Hogsmeade), Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon, & Marvels Superhero Island. Let’s take a look at the different islands and what they have to offer.
Seuss Landing: In this section you will step into your favorite Dr. Seuss story book. Take a ride on The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride or enjoy a splash here or there on One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Keep an eye out as you are passing through, you never know when that silly cat or many other things will pop up for a photo or two! Green Eggs and Ham Café has Sam-I-Am burgers, they may not be green, but you are sure to like them!
The Lost Continent: I will admit that this area is overlooked by many, because it’s on the path to get to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but do not just pass through. Take some time to visit The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad Stunt Show & Poseidon’s Fury, grab a bite to eat at Mythos Restaurant.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: If you are even a little bit of a Harry Potter fan, this area will absolutely blow you away. This theme area actually spans between both Theme Parks, Islands of Adventure & Universal Orlando and in order to take The Hogwarts Express Train from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley you MUST have a park to park ticket. For the thrill ride seekers in your party the Dragon Challenge is just the perfect ride for you! Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a 3D action packed simulator ride! Flight of the Hippogriff is a family rollercoaster the young thrill seekers. Visit Ollivanders and let your wand choose you! Test out your wizardry by casting spells throughout the parks. Make sure you visit the Owl Post, you can send your family and friends back home with a certified Hogsmeade postmark. You can dine at The Three Broomsticks Inn and make sure your park visit includes Butterbeer (it’s not real beer so the whole family can enjoy it).
Jurassic Park: When you cross under the archway into Jurassic Park you step into a world where dinosaurs rule the land. On a hot day Jurassic Park River Adventure may be just the thing you need, that 87 foot drop at the end may leave you a little wet! Kids 36” to 56” may glide over the park, on Pteranodon Flyers. Think you are brave enough to stand inches away from a raptor? Visit the Raptor Encounter, and leave with a memory of a lifetime. If you are looking for a good burger check out The Burger Digs.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong is an amazing 3D thrill ride that takes you on a dangerous journey! Prehistoric characters attack your vehicle from all sides.
Toon Lagoon: Step into a place where you can meet classic comic book characters like Popeye the Sailor Man, Olive Oyl and Betty Boop. Two water rides guarantee that you may get a little (or a lot) wet on include Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. I highly recommend taking shoes off and wearing poncho’s, if not you will be paying $5.00 to stand in a dryer to dry yourself off.
Marvel Superhero Island: In this themed area you can test your thrill seeking ability! With rides like The Incredible Hulk Coaster & Dr. Doom’s Fearfall your thirst for thrills will be quinced. The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman is a 3D simulator ride that even the young thrill seekers can enjoy! Meet classic marvel characters like Spider Man, Captain America and Dr. Doom and The Green Goblin. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat at Captain America’s Diner.
