Disney is the most magical place on earth, and around the holidays, they invite some of their most beloved friends to join in the happy haunting.
Starting in September, Magic Kingdom begins to fill with pumpkins, witch’s, ghosts and perhaps a few extra tricks here and there.

August 25 and 29, 2017
September 1, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 and 29, 2017

But let’s not forget that where there are tricks, there are treats! Disney spares no detail as they invite you to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Several nights throughout the season, Magic Kingdom closes a bit early for the normal crowds as they invite special ticketed guests into the park for a Halloween party with Mickey and his friends. While there, you can spend time riding Haunted Mansion (my personal favorite) or meeting some of your favorite princesses…Moana has been spotted hanging out with guests of the park as she celebrates with Mickey! But it’s not just pump(kin) and spookenstance, there are also a few more villainous characters to keep an eye out for, the Sanderson sisters have been known to show up, and wherever they go, trouble seems to follow!
Trick or Treating is also available to those adventurous enough to attend Mickeys party, and if treats are your thing, you’ll want to keep an eye out for some of the most delicious treats from pumpkin Mickey waffles (yum) to candy corn ice cream (yuck?) and though I have not personally been able to attend this year, I have seen desserts special to the haunted mansion (seriously…my favorite ride!)

Mickey is incredibly busy during this time, as he celebrates in both Disneyland and Disneyworld, there are some differences he uses to make each experience special!
In Disneyland, should you choose to visit the Haunted Mansion, you will undoubtedly notice a few changes to the décor, as Jack Skellington and his crew from The Nightmare Before Christmas have taken over the home of Master Gracey. In Disney World, it seems as the ghosts have taken up a brief residence outside of the Haunted Mansion, and you can find them through the special photo pass pictures(Memory Maker is the BEST investment to all Disney Vacations!). If you should be brave enough to pose for a photo outside of the mansion with a Disney photographer, their special training and tools allow them to capture a bit more magic than at any other time throughout the year.

So if you are lucky (unlucky?) enough to be invited to Mickeys not so scary Halloween party, my best advice is to not go alone (parties are always better with friends!) try as many of the treats as possible (Disney desserts are to DIE for!) meet some of the more elusive friends that attend and of course, visit the haunted mansion!

The Spooky atmosphere is family friendly and kids of all ages, both young at heart and young in mind, can find spooktacular fun behind those hallowed gates. With all of this and so much more to do and see, this is a definite “Must” for any Disney fan!
