Resort Spotlight: Port Orleans French Quarter

Celebrate Mardi Gras every day at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. A moderate resort with just the perfect mixture of Mardi Gras and The French Quarter. This resort is perfect for the client that is looking for a smaller, more intimate resort. Port Orleans French Quarter is also one of the more popular resorts, with seven buildings housing 1008 rooms. Take a stroll down the cobblestone streets lined with gas lamps and enjoy the scenery during your stay. The resort is located along the Sassagoula River and offers boat transportation to Disney Springs.

There are a few different room categories you can choose from while staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. You can choose from a Standard View, Garden View, River View, Pool View or King Room. All guest rooms are elegantly themed and a comfortable walk from Port Orleans Square.

There are a few dining options at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. The newly renovated Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This food court is considered a quick service dining location and does not accept reservations. Don’t forget to pick up some beignets while visiting and dining around the Mardi Gras Parade Props! If you are looking for a quick bite or the perfect drink while visiting the pool, stop by Mardi Grogs Pool Bar. You can also visit Scat Cat’s Club for specialty drinks and appetizers.

Take time to visit Doubloon Lagoon Pool while staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. Take a ride down the 51 foot snake slide “Scales”. The Doubloon Lagoon Water Play Area is designated for children 48 inches or smaller. There are also daily pool side activities, weather permitting. Keep in mind that this resort is a sister resort to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, and guest staying at each resort can enjoy everything each Port Orleans resort has to offer. Other recreational activities include: Horse Draw Carriage Rides, Movies under the Stars, Cajun Campfires, Bike Rentals, Playgrounds and Arcades.

Like every Disney Resort you will be provided with MagicBands that will be used as your room key. It will store your tickets, fastpasses, dining credits and memory maker photos. If you are flying in, you will be provided with transportation from the airport compliments of Disney’s Magical Express. You will also have access to free parking at each park or you are welcome to use Disney Transportation during your entire stay.
