Run Disney 2018

RunDisney is the “Happiest Place to Race”. Whether you are a first timer or experienced Disney Runner, this series of races is the most magical and will set memories that will last a lifetime!

In Orlando, Florida, let’s start with Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon. This race you run on your own time, at your own pace and anywhere you want to. There is only one rule, you must run this during the January 3- February 28, 2018 time frame. Just submit your results and your award is on its way to your front door. Feeling like more of a challenge? Test yourself during the ultimate Star Wars running challenge, the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge. Not only will you run the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon, you will make your way to Disney World on April 22, 2018 to also run the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon. I believe in you, make it happen! Participants receive Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon Medal, runDisney Kessel Run Challenge Medal and Star Wars Half Marathon Dark Side race entitlements, downloadable race bib for Star Wars Virtual Half marathon and Star Wars themed keepsake.

The biggest weekend celebration began 25 years ago as runner’s dreams came true by having the opportunity to run at the most magical place on earth! There are many different challenges to endure during this weekend beginning with the 25th Anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon presented by Cigna that occured on January 7, 2018, starting at Epcot. During this 26.2 mile run, runners make their way through Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. On January 6, 2018, Walt Disney World Half Marathon presented by Cigna is a 13.1 mile run through Magic Kingdom and Epcot. January 6-7, 2018, Goofy’s Race and Half Marathon Challenge presented by Cigna is 39.3 miles and 2 days of fun and magic! Run 13.1 miles through Magic Kingdom and Epcot on Saturday and 26.2 miles through Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios on Sunday. Run 6.2 miles during the Walt Disney World 10k presented by Cigna on January 5, 2018 through Epcot as Disney Characters cheer you on. Walt Disney World 5k occurs on January 4, 2018, beginning and ending in Epcot. January 4 – January 7, 2018 holds the 5th Anniversary Dopey Challenge presented by Cigna. 48.6 miles is the ultimate race challenge throughout Disney World. Begin running the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and end with the 25th Anniversary Walt Disney Marathon. Complete all four races within the required pacing time and receive Goofy’s Race and Half Challenge medal and the Dopey Challenge medal for a total of six medals for the weekend! Rock that bling. On January 5 – January 6, 2018, a special race is held for the kiddos ages 13 and under, runDisney Kids Races presented by GoGo squeeze Applesauce on the Go. At the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the following races occur for these age ranges: 12 months and under (Diaper Dash for Crawlers), 1-4 years old (100m Dash), 5-8 years old (200m Dash), and One Mile Run is open to all ages 13 and under. After running that weekend, set sail on a Disney Cruise and head to the Bahamas for the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge January 8 – January 12th. The 5k is ran on January 10, 2018 on the private island in the Bahamas. Enjoy the tropical surroundings during this glorious get-a-way. The runDisney Health & Fitness Expo is a one-stop headquarters for all runners beginning on January 3, 2018 and ending on January 6, 2018 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Here the runners can pick up their gear, get runDisney merchandise and view latest apparel, fitness equipment, gadgets and nutritional products. Disney also offers VIP Race Retreat Packages as well. These VIP participants will receive early access to the expo, private hospitality tent, pre-race food and beverages, private restrooms, changing tents and bag check, Disney character appearances, recovery zone, Disney catered post-race brunch, designated location to meet family and friends and a Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend commemorative item, all for an extra charge. Which challenge will you attempt?

Disney Princess Half Marathon presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Help celebrate 10 years of dreams come true during the fairytale weekend of Princesses. Beginning on February 25, 2018, the Disney Princess Half Marathon presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals begins at Epcot and proceeds into Magic Kingdom during this 13.1 mile run of every day princesses. Run through 6.2 enchanting miles during the Disney Princess Enchanted 10k presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on February 24, 2018 or the Disney Princess 5k presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on February 23, 2018. Both of these races take you through Epcot with fans and characters cheering you on to the finish. Step up your challenge with the 5th Anniversary Fairy Tale Challenge February 24- February 25, 2018. Run both the 5k and 10k for a total of 19.3 miles and receive the Fairy Tale Challenge medal in addition to the half marathon and 10k finisher medals. Also enjoy the runDisney Kids Races (February 24, 2018), runDisney Health & Fitness Expo (February 22 – February 24, 2018) and VIP experience (for an additional price) during this amazing weekend!

Star Wars Dark Side Marathon May the force be with you during the Star Wars weekend. The Star Wars Dark Side Marathon, happening on April 22, 2018, Captain Phasma leads you off on a 13.1 mile run through Walt Disney World Resort. Star Wars Dark Side 10k on April 21, 2018 is a thrilling 6.2 mile run through a galaxy of fun. Challenge yourself more with the two day, 19.3 mile challenge on April 21 – April 22, 2018. Start with the 10k and finish with the Half Marathon to receive the Star Wars First Order Challenge Finisher Medal in addition to the Half Marathon and 10k finisher medals. Take the family on the Star Wars Dark Side 5k galactic run on April 20, 2018 or runDisney Kids Races presented by GoGo squeeze Applesauce on the Go on April 21, 2018. The runDisney Health & Fitness Expo is also available this weekend from April 19 – April 21, 2018.

Disney Wine & Half Marathon One last fun-filled weekend for 2018 in Orlando, Florida is the weekend for the Disney Wine & Half Marathon presented by MSIFIT. Start your morning running and end your evening with mouth- watering food and wine. On November 4, 2018, the Half Marathon takes you on a 13,1 mile run through Walt Disney World Resort. Run 6.2 miles during the Disney Wine & Dine 10k presented by MISFIT on November 3, 2018. Take the Disney Two Course Challenge presented by MISFIT on November 3- November 4, 2018 by running the Half Marathon and 10k. Receive the Two Course Challenge medal along with the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon and 10k medals after this fun filled weekend of 19.3 miles of magical energy. The Disney Fall Feast 5k presented by MISFIT takes place on November 2, 2018 for beginners, intermediates and experienced runners. RunDisney Kids Races and Health & Fitness Expo is also available this particular weekend, November 1 – November 3, 2018. Celebrate this weekend of races at the After-hours Epcot International Food & Wine Festival on November 4, 2018. Post-race Party tickets include the opportunity to join fellow runners in purchasing indulgent offerings, select Epcot attractions, character meet & greets and musical performances, entertainment and live DJ. This weekend is the perfect weekend for a get-a-way with your spouse or girlfriends!

Virtual Races If you are a runner that is unable to make it these weekends or you just want to keep running, Disney has more! Disney offers Virtual Running Shorts Series. Beginning in June and ending in August, register each month, run and submit your time during the completion times required all from your own home. Participants will receive a finisher’s medal, downloadable bib and downloadable certificate. Each race is 3.1 miles long. Grab your family, pets and/or friends and make a day out of it by staying healthy and energized!

Training Need help training for a race? RunDisney offers that too with Jeff Galloway’s training program! His program has helped thousands of people across the finish line and reduced injury numbers. Paris Not only does Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida offer such magical events, Disneyland in Paris, France also offers a run weekend.
