Dining Spotlight – Be Our Guest

While there are many wonderful dining choices at Walt Disney World, Be Our Guest just so happens to be my very favorite! I would say that a lot of other people agree, as this is one of the harder dining reservations to get. Opened in 2012 with the expansion of Fantasyland it has been high on guests must do list since it opened. Read on and you'll see why....
The theming at this location is incredible! Located at the bottom of the Beast's enchanted castle, no detail has been overlooked. Cross a stone bridge with gargoyle's as you see the castle perched high above. Enter a tapestry lined hallway where suits of armor flank you on either side, here's a tip, if you listen closely you can hear the armor whispering to each other. As you enter the dining area you will see that there are three distinct areas to choose from. The first two rooms are cheery with a homey feel. The ballroom is the largest and features snow falling outside the windows, soaring ceilings, and giant chandeliers. The Rose Gallery which features a beautiful, rotating music box depicting Belle and the Beast dancing. Enormous tapestries of some of the enchanted objects line the walls. The third room is the West Wing and this room has a whole different feel which may frighten some small children. This incredible room is my favorite because of the theming. Dimly lit and with only a few tables this is the smallest of the rooms. See the iconic rose in the glass case drop rose petals, watch the torn picture of Adam change to the Beast right before your eyes every time that lightning flashes from the incoming storm. Be sure to check out every room while you are there, they are all incredible and should not be missed. For breakfast or lunch you can choose your seat, for dinner you are seated so if you have a preference on room be sure to let the host know.

Choose to dine with a quick service meal for breakfast or lunch (the only quick service dining in Disney World that does require a reservation) or a table service dinner. Please note that as of July 27th, 2018 that dinner will change to a prix fixe 3 course meal and will become a 2 table service dining credit location. Dinner will include your choice of appetizer, entrée and a dessert platter. This is the only location in the Magic Kingdom where you can order beer or wine with your dinner. Appetizers will include choices such as French onion soup, escargot, or charred octopus. Entrees will feature center cut filet mignon, lamb chops, or smoked black eyed pea tortellini. For a fun touch you will get to lead your way to your table by holding your own candelabra, Lumiere of course!
For breakfast or lunch, you can order your meal from a touch screen kiosk as you enter or now you have the option of pre ordering up to 30 days in advance on the My Disney Experience app. Meals are served on actual plates and with real silverware, no paper products will do for this castle. For breakfast choose from delicious options like a croissant donut with banana caramel sauce, vegetable quiche, or open-faced bacon and egg sandwich. Breakfast entrees come with a pastry basket. For lunch try the slow cooked coq au vin style pork with mushrooms, carrots, onion, and bacon served with mashed potatoes and green beans (this is my personal fave), the seared tuna Nicoise salad or Croque monsieur sandwich with ham, gruyere, and béchamel sauce are also favorites.Kids entrée choices include macaroni with marinara sauce, turkey sandwich and grilled cheese. If you are dining for lunch or dinner you must try the delicious desserts that are offered. The Masters cupcake which features the gray stuff is always a hit with any chocolate lover, the cream puff and strawberry cream cheese cupcake always get rave reviews as well.

If you are lucky enough to dine here for dinner you will have your chance to meet and have your picture taken with the Beast! He does not come to your table like at other character meals, instead you are encouraged to step into a separate room to meet him after you have dined. There may a line with some waiting but it's well worth it to meet the master of the castle. Disney photographers are on hand to snap your pic for your memory maker or they will be glad to take one for you on your camera or phone.

For breakfast, lunch, or dinner you will be sure to have an enchanted time dining here! The delicious food and stunning attention to detail at this dining location are a big hit and should not be missed. Make sure to let your travel agent know that you would love to eat here as these reservations book up fast!
